Hi fellow grass cutters. I have a John Deere 1023 w/loader and quick attach mechanical lift 60"mower deck. My problem is that there is a piece of iron about 7" long sticking out or down below the bottom edge of the mower deck. I assume that was put there to stop one from cutting into rocks and stumps and such. The problem is that it also plows the ground when I try to cut low or on uneven ground. Is there anything I can do to remedy this without the obvious of not cutting low or stay on level ground? Thanks for your input.
Baldy.
Thanks for your reply Mark. That is a fairly substantial piece of metal there to bend and would take a lot of heat. Probably would be easier to cut off with a torch. Should be still under warranty so I will contact my dealer to see if they have a solution. I was thinking of something like a wheel instead of the bar or a skid plate or something like that. Not sure what would work. I'll post again when I have something from them.
