2007 model mb hydrualic fluid levels

Some Advice Guys, with mower off, in neutral ready to start with cowl open, how high should i have hydraulic fluid in reserviors? mine's maybe 3/8" from empty. there's no level marks on reservours and nothing mentioned in manual. thank you for your time!!

I would say should be about 3/4 full

The original amount of 3/8" is correct, don't listen to that other guy who said it should be 3/4 full. That is absolutely wrong! That is basically an overflow reservoir for the transmission. Having too much fluid in there will result in fluid coming out of the reservoir. Let me know if I can help at all.

Why should it be less than half full?

Two months ago when you asked this did you add some to bring it up to 3/4?

It's an overflow, not extra capacity. The transmission itself holds all the fluid it needs. When the trannies heat up the fluid expands and if the overflow is 3/4 full, it will just spill out.
