So what you are saying is the bearing is a crowded race needle bearing that has broken up so the needles are all over the place.
You can get the needles out but not the steel case that was holding them.
If this is your problem then run a tap ( of the thread cutting kind) into the steel cage .
It will start to cut a thread then spin the offending item in the alloy you can then pull it strait out.
A healthy dose of heat ( oven , heat gun or BBQ, not a torch ) would not be wasted.
other than that you can cut, grind through the lip then grab the lip and twist it into itself.
