    Stripped blades lugs

I hit a piece of angle iron which broke the lugs off the inside spindle. The blade is of course loose and the blade bolt is tight. I need to find a way to lock the spindle so I can remove the blade bolt and then remove the spindle. I thought about using a strap wrench on the pulley.I need the...

    Armor skids

I installed a pair of Armorskids on my 24 inch Ariens and I have to say the blower now floats on the gravel drive and in the field around the feeders. Has anyone else tried them? They are not cheap, but I think they are worth the money, especially since they are made in the USA.

Geez! Could the Forum at least give me the chance to log in before that idiotic and intrusive signup pop up hits me in the face.

    Brakes

After changing out the drive belt on the Cub Cadet 1600, the mower creeps after releasing the speed pedal. The brakes will not stop the mower. I removed the brake assembly and found the pins frozen. Unfortunately I broke one of the mounting bolts. I drilled the broken bolt out but the bit...

    Cub Cadet 1600

I have the belts on and the rider goes forward and backward. Now with the new belts the rider will not stop using the brake pedal. I searched the forums and found out how to adjust the brakes. There was no adjustment left so I figure I'll replace the pads or the whole assembly after I found the...

    A miracle

Just had to share this. Put the new impact gun on the electric clutch bolt on the Cub Cadet 1600. The clutch came down as the bolt loosened. so no PB Blaster. BTW; The folks running this site could at least give us some time to log in before that stupid dunning screen to register comes up.

    Raven electric mower

I saw a Raven electric riding mower in Lowe's today. It is a 7100w generator on a utv frame with a 46 inch 2 electric motor driven deck. The reviews I read on the net from those who have bought one from Lowe's are so far positive. The idea is great since one can either mow, cruise the farm, or...

    Generators

Since Sandy hit here and we spent oodles on gas for our generator, Has any one installed the propane conversion that bolts on between the air cleaner and the carb? This would allow the use of gasoline or propane. Our generator is a Generac 8000/10000, however I didn't see any kits for a...

    Cub cadet 1600 electrci clutch

How do I keep the engine shaft from turning when I try to remove the center bolt from pto assembly? This an old rider and apparently although the engine runs, maybe not adequate compression?

    Snow Joe

I picked up an electric Snow Joe to do the deck and steps. Since instructions are enclosed on replacing the plastic rotor and it does look fragile, has anyone here had some experience with this machine?

    Cotter pins

The left wheel on our CC 1600 keeps coming off due the cotter pin getting sheared, especially on sharp left turns. I suspect hardened cotter pins are the answer. I considered drilling out the axle hole a little and using snap pins. The wheels are Arnold wheels with 5/8 bushings. I am considering...

    9 Hp Briggs Vanguard

I had to borrow a Generac 5000 w generator from the neighbor after Irene. The only way to keep it running was to choke it. When I tried to to adjust the high speed needle, fuel dripped from a tube at the bottom of the fuel bowl. Closing the the screw stopped the drip. This generator had set idle...

    Cub Cadet 1000 series

I'm getting ready to put it on the grass soon. All the riders I've seen at various dealers have a release which must be used to allow the mower to be pushed or pulled in case of problems. This CC 1600 has no such release and cannot be moved except under it's own power. This does not make sense...

    Cub Cadet 1600

I am close to installing new Oregon spindles ( greaseable) on our Cub Cadet 1600 deck. The original spindles were fastened using self tapping bolts most of which sheared off when I impacted them. I though about using cap screws, locknuts and nuts instead of self tappers. any suggestions or...
