I recently purchased the edger for my stihl 94 kombi system. I have noticed that the drive shaft inside the tube can be moved up and down unlike the drive shafts I have in any of the other tubes I have e.g. the hedge trimmer. This is causing the shaft to slip out of the edger at times when it is in use. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so that the shaft is immovable inside the tube?

Have you loosened the gearbox screws and tried pushing the tube in further?

Might take a bit of wiggling, turning, etc..

It fits in as normal into the gearbox and the edger works ok until the shaft slips out and I have to loosen then tighten the gearbox screws

Question. Is this the FCS-KM straight shaft edger? IF so the owner mentions having the stiff metal shaft to a flex shaft for the KM94.

I had that problem - you need to adjust the unit on the bottom. The tube isn't ALL the way down into the edger gear box.
