Snapper Y30080 throttle control parts

I acquired a Y30080 last year and was able to get it working and ready to sell when the plastic guide on the throttle control plate that mounts on the engine finally gave up the ghost. I've searched high and low for replacements but it's been discontinued. I need suggestions for modifications to control the throttle with whatever is available on the market now. Thank you in advance.
