I live in an area of Texas that is very sandy, so I am constantly going through mower blades and my deck was slowly but surely being eaten away.
This is what my deck looked like:

So I used sheet metal and rivets to rebuild the underside of the deck.

This lasted a 1.5 years so I knew I needed something more substantial and permanent!
I decided that 1/8 inch cold rolled steel would do the job.
I made a template of the deck and used it to cut out one piece of the new plate.

This I welded to the underside of the deck. (I am not a welder as is apparent)

I am now back at it with a slightly heavier mower deck that should last a few more years.
