For tractor owners who can see, but cannot reach that broken or frayed wire. Just used a tool to repair broken alternator wire which was "in there," but unreachable. Impossible to strip ends with knife or common wire stripper-no room. Would require dismantling the side of the engine. Enter the "end style" stripper.

Not so common most resemble a pistol with the barrel end containing teeth that adjust to the wire gauge. You select the gauge, point thru the clutter and grip the wire end, and squeeze. After the stranded wire is exposed slip on shrink sleeve, make a pig tail splice , and solder. Use a Weller solder "gun" style which is also poked thru to the pig tail. I did find one "end style" crimper for those who prefer this style termination.

My old stripper is no longer made (Utica), but I surfed around . Take a look at : Knipex 11-02-160 , Maxim 15310, PGWS pistol, Titan 11478. The lone crimper OTC 5950 S. $18-$75.
Cannot vouch for quality.
