I have just bought a used Dixie Chopper XK 2503 60" deck mower. Previous owner figures about 800-1000 hours. hydraulic oil and filters have not been changed.....cant get anything from dixie chopper on how to do this......so here I am. I am looking for a drain plug....so that is how ignorant I am....thinking you might have to pump it out. Any step by step advice would be helpful. All the way to proper checking of hydraulic system before being put into use again.....thanks

Hi,
Looking at the parts diagram both (2) filters are at the bottom of fluid tank (#5) on the parts list...looks easy enough to replace.

Error

I can't copy proper URL in here,
just click on error and it'll take you there.

I see the filters, but i have not been able to locate drain plug?.is there one, or do you pump out or pop off a hose at the lowest point on the system? I saw a drain pan in a parts list but can't figure where it is placed. Also what are the steps to refilling and testing system.

Sorry, lost track of this thread

I...what are the steps to refilling and testing system.

The following procedures should be performed with the
vehicle drive wheels off the ground, then repeated
under normal operating conditions.
1. Open bypass valve.
2. Start engine.
3. Slowly move the directional control levers in both
forward and reverse directions (5 or 6 times). As air
is purged from the unit, the oil level will drop.
4. Close the bypass valve. Do not stop engine.
5. Slowly move the directional control levers in both
forward and reverse directions (5 to 6 times).
6. Stop engine.
7. Check the oil level, and add oil as required.
If necessary, repeat the preceding steps until all
the air is completely purged from the system.
When the transaxle moves forward and reverse at
normal speed purging is complete
