I have about 1/2 acre lot. It is new grass and old weeds and a lot of bare spots and inbeaded rocks and very uneven ground . Is it better to mulch or just cut. I am going to work on it this fall with new seed and a lot of work. But I need new Blades I should buy reguler baldes or mulching blades? I have heard that mulching blades help with new grass groath Please help Thanks David

If you have a very good mulching mower I would suggest mulching. It will give you a good base to start your cleanup this fall. If your mower does not mulch very well go with side discharge or bag.

Hi cjdave,
Some mowers (mostly the professional ones) are better at bagging than mulching. If u have one of those, the mulch quality wont be that great. If you have a residential mower that mulches OK, I would recommend doing that because when you mulch, the small grass clippings fall back into the lawn and act as kind of a fertilizer.
So if you have an ok mulching mower, MULCH!
I hope that helps!
