Mowing Patterns

Please share how you mow or other ways of mowing. Please don't reply saying that you mow traditionally

Hi
We mow one week North & South
Following week East & West
Following week
SW to NE ( Diaginal)
Following week
SE to NW
Then repeat pattern

Since I only have a push mower I dont need to change directions as much, so I usually just mow the longest way for a few times and then I switch it to the other directions. Sometimes in peoples front yards who have a tree, I mow doing circles around the tree. It looks nice!!

IF you mow the lawns every week you can USUALLY see the previous weeks pattern OR you just
remember what you did the week before.
BUT you gotta remember --
your memory is the third thing to go !!

Thats why I posted this, because I caught on to seeing the grass leaning, I just wanted to see if their were any fancy ways of doing it.:smile:

Just switch lines and absolutely no circles . I dont think they EVER look nice keep your lines straight and change directions every week unless you want to eventually have permanent lines/ruts.

I have heard that permanent lines are bad for the grass because the sun only shines on one side of it:cool:

Not to mention that permanent lines often lead to ruts which are a pain in the *** to get rid of
