Blades hesitates when engaged, could it be that the deck belt is worn or stretched? John Deere D110

yes & No.
A worn belt is thin. not longer
And yes it can take a few seconds for it to run up to normal speed .
Solution is new belt , new tension spring netw pulleys or any combination of the abive.
Take the belt off and try to spin the blades.
If they are nor free & quiet then the spindle bearings need replacing as well.
