My wife bought me aa John Deer with thee ez change oil filter system, it is less than 2 years old and still under warranty. So I put a new filter on it "oil change" and 30 minutes later it blew up. This mower was bought from the dealer in Wilmington NC and they said there was no warranty because I ran it with no oil, I asked how that could be because I had just replaced the ez change which supposedly has the oil in it, They had no answer. WHAT A RIPOFF!! Don't buy one of these machines.

Sorry that happened. Did you check your oil level after doing the change? I'm not a fan of that ez change system. Sounds like your oil was low to begin with and that just put it over the edge. Briggs can burn oil while running, even when new. Always a good habit to check the oil level before each use.
