I have an HS-46C, it's not terribly old. It will not start without ether, then it will not run unless choked. Pretty piddly power in that mode.
I have a Stihl string trimmer, blower, and chain saw all running just great off the same gas from the same can, and yes, I only use Stihl oil.
This thing does not have a lot of hours on it, it is probably the least used piece of equipment I own.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

George

Yeah, sitting a while, the fuel in the carb can varnish up and clog a carburetor up.

Sometimes, richening up the adjustment screws can let more gas flow through the carb and disolve the varnish a bit. Readjust when the carb starts running real rich. You may have to remove the limiter caps to richen them up enough.
Be careful and do not run the unit if it is still running lean, or you will burn the thing up.
