I have an Ariens 20 hp 46 inch deck mower that is 5 years old, fairly well maintained.
Recently I have had a problem with it sticking in reverse when reversing and I need to hit the left brake pedal and then it abruptly will jerk into forward. The unit will move slowly forward when not pedal is pressed also. I have cleaned everywhere any linkage is. Other then this issue it is a great machine. But in this condition I cannot have my wife use it.

After entering model # 936085 & serial # 020402 see page 26 in operators manual for possibilities to your problem.
I would also remove deck & inspect drive belt, idler pulleys, linkages, for wear & or replacement. W ear SAFETY GLASSES for SAFETY & use hands on approach with inspection light. Be sure to lube & grease all moving parts.

HD7054, Did you get her fixed? If not you have 4 idler pulleys, parts 50, 52, 102, 103 & drive belt. Remove deck & inspect everything.
