Hey I've got a Champion 4000w generator I need to get the rotor off and pull the engine side cover to repair the governor. What's the best way/ways to pull it? I can't find a puller

Post what engine it is, brand, type, H.P. ect... most generator engines have a tapperd shaft, a long bolt runs through the center of the rotor shaft & threds in to the tapperd end of the crankshaft, you may have to make a tool to fit over the rotor shaft of the dismanteled generator which will turn the rotorshaft with the engine locked with a piston stop or other means of stopping the crankshaft from turning while gently turning the gene rotor.

Remove the through bolt and hit the coil area downwards with a deadblow hammer. Might want to put a block of wood under the rotor with a 1/2" of clearance first. You do have to give it a good hit.
