I have a 2018 Exmark Quest that will not start. It turns over but no start. Has sat up for about 8 mths. Cleaned out carb and put gas in still no start. Can spray a shot of starting fluid and it will run for a sec. then die. So spark is good. Where to go next ?

Right now it s 3 weeks after the first meaning full rain in 8 months and the grass has shot away
There is a que of mowers from the workshop to the front fence , all needing a carb clean.
Done 47 in 3 weeks, got another 22 booked in.
Your carb is blocked or it is not getting fuel
Rig up a tank of some sort ( pinch one from your push mower if you have to, or a motorcycle whatever.
Hold it about 1' or more above the engine then plug it directly into the carb.
Problem goes away = crud build up in the carb
Problem stays = crud in the fuel lines.

Well there is plenty of gas getting to carb so no problem in lines or fuel pump. None getting to spark plugs. I have pulled carb and cleaned and blowed out. not sure what else to do.

In this case the prime suspect is the fuel shut off solenoid on the carb.
It is spring loaded closed and opened by 12 from the key switch.
Pull it out and clean it out.
Crud cab get under the plunger and stop it from opening.
Also check they the wire to it is 12V whenever the key switch is NOT OFF.
The wires do get broken / eaten by critters or fall off.
I have some old bowl bolts I use as a temporary check to se if the solnoid is the problem.
Running the mower without the solenoid is considered as "Tampering with pollution control devices in some states and comes with hefty fines.
