Just purchased this mower which looks and runs pretty good. I think it is an 84 or 85 but the guy really took care of it. Only has a 11 hp Briggs on it which runs well. It doesn't have any hydrostat but uses a system which looks kind of complicated. Just curious as to the good and bad things about this unit. I am also interested in if there is a replacement motor available in case this motor goes. The motor doesn't burn any oil and seems to run OK but I think it is kind of tired.

That is a "cone"drive.... they will last a long time if not abused... it's an easy job to replace them when needed...
The engine will likely last forever, given decent care, use synthetic engine oil & change it once a year...
Keep the air filter clean...
There are many engines that will fit that mower, but I bet you never have to change the engine... :smile:KennyV
