I am restoring an early Jacobsen Model 18 Rotary Disc Mower with J-100-V engine. I recently bought a new old stock Jacobsen engine which was listed as a #6M. It appears to have exactly the same cylinder, piston and rod as the J-100-V. While I have more to check, the crankshaft appears to be identical with one exception. The bottom of the crankshaft where the motor and cutter sleeve (sort of a stabilizer for the rotary disc under the mower deck) fits on the J-100-V is circular. On the #6M the crank is same diameter but has two flat sides opposite each other. Any idea where I could get a sleeve for the #6M engine so I can use the new crank?
