anyone with a white gt 1855 or 2055?

I recently picked up a 2055, and this is what i am wondering. on this one with the deck all the way up it still cuts short, like almost shave dirt short. do they all do that? there is not much room left for adjustment and the deck shaft would start to rub on another piece. also wondering are they suppose have a small bend up front on frame. it looks like if it was more straight the shaft would sit higher.
