It has a new belt on but when in off position, it has about 2 1/2" off slack and comes off the pulley.
The idler pulley is going back and forth.
There is a belt diagram and it should be good there.

What should I do?
Thanks

Firstly the belt should go slack in the off position.
There should be guides that prevent it falling off.

For any more information we really need the model numbers from the tag under the set.

Comes off the pulley...which pulley?

When was the "new" belt put on?

Who put it on?
has it worked since the new belt was put on?

1)Belt is on the wrong side of an idler pulley...belt is routed wrong.

2)Wrong belt

Pictures of pto on and off.
The belt was on the wrong side of the gold bolt in the center. Shouldn't matter concerning the slack.
With pto on it will be snug bout hits the inside of the pulley cover.

Due to a combination of errors on my part, the deck was pinned farter back and problem solve.
Even though I am not mechanically inclined, I should have fixed it sooner.

Actually I have the same problem with the belt coming off the far left pulley. With the deck all the way back the blades turn with the pto off. If next hole forward it is to loose and comes off when pto turned off.

By moving the cover I got the keeper closer to the pulley. By taking moving the pto slowly it stays on. Will see.
