The 2020 mowing season is upon us and my 2014 Tiger Cat (STC52V-691FX) will not crank?. I'm getting an audible clicking sound at the key panel and at the engine but she will not crank and start.

So far....
  • Verified that I have 12.5V at the battery.
  • Checked the two 20A fuses.
  • Verified (continuity testing) that the seat, neutral, and parking switches appear to be working.
  • Replaced the ignition and the PTO switches.
  • Removed and verified with the local SCAG dealer that the starter/solenoid is in working order.
  • Cleaned the ground connections at the engine base.
I've watched several YouTube videos but nothing has helped correct the issue.

Any help with getting me back in the yard and mowing again (my happy place!!) would be greatly appreciated!

How did you test the safety switches?

Close to the key switch is the cranking relay. When all the safety circuits are lined correctly, the module will allow a ground to the relay an permit cranking of the engine.

UPDATE...

It was the starter relay (under the key panel). Once that was replaced, she started like a champ!

Thanks for the update.
I had trouble with relays on my 2012 turf tiger.
My unit has a relay in the dash as yours, then 2 relays behind the battery box. (that I had to remove to reach those relays).
At only 20 bucks a pop, may as well do em all. as it is a pita to get to.
On mine all 3 relays are the same part number.
