This is a Craftsman corded electric lawn mower. It has just been sitting for years and I'm guessing it could be pretty old. tag says "product of yard-man inc" and the # on it is "123.8152"
has a 1/3 hp motor model# 115-7121.
Is this worth fixing up? any value to it?
if someone could give me some more information on it, I would really appreciate it.

Wow. Never seen anything like that before. That is neat for sure. I'm thinking it may be from the 50's. Not sure.

The mower itself was built in 1953, as a gas powered reel mower. It was known as a Craftsman Fly Fishing reel power mower. It was powered by both a 1 or 1 1/2 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. Yours' I'm sorry to say is not original, but has been converted to electric.

Thanks for the info. I was spot on with the guessing it was in the 50's. It is a shame it isn't all original. Although it would still be neat to have and play with.

Wish I had the money. I would be willing to purchase that mower.

My dad has one of those reel mowers that had a gas engine on it. I wouldn't mind finding an original engine for it. (Though I doubt I will)

If not I think it would even be neat to find a new engine that would work with it.

I'd love to use that thing.

When I get another camera (current one is broken) I'll try and get some pics of it.

The reason I said it was not original, is that the all the ones I have seen have the B&S engines on them. By your tag it looks like I may be wrong. Sorry, I guess I learned something new today

Hello Rivits,

Why would it have been called a "Craftsman Fly Fishing reel power mower/"

The electric cord automatic spool seems to me to be the reason that name was chosen. If the cord spool wasn't originally from the manufacturer doesn't seem like there'd be a reason to attach a name like that?
