My John Deere with a Briggs & Stratton 20 horsepower V-Twin will be running just fine and suddenly it will spit and sputter for a few seconds and then die. After simply removing the fuel line at the fuel filter and re-installing again, the mower will start and run fine again. Why does it keep dying?

Maybe the fuel filter is dirty and stopping fuel flowing.
