can anybody tell me what year my two snappers are? I have a comet 26 in cut and a 5 hp Briggs model number 265x. And I have another comet 26 with a 5 hp tecumseh with model number 2650 I am wondering if any body could tell me the year they were made.

if the belt cover on the deck is black plastic it is 1980 or newer and if it is white metal it is 1979 or older, I would think they are the older ones based on HP of motor, do you have the serial #'s?

They have the metal covers I'm not at the shop and won't be till tomorrow so I will post the serial numbers tomorrow

I have a 2650 (26" cut, 5hp) that is a 1974 so I would say yours are mid to late 70's.
