I finally got the 26 hp kohler running without choke on. Now it really overrevs and sounds like about ever 10 seconds floods itself out and sputters, will blow black smoke out and run again. I assume i have governor or linkage troubles. I cant find a pictrue with this engine on a JD 110. Thanks for the hep

Recheck your linkage AND the float setting in the float bowl ...
Black smoke = your getting too much fuel... not too much power.:smile:KennyV

Hardly such a thing as too much power, but you might try tapping on the carb gently and see if that takes care of a sticking float before you tear into it again. It's cheap and quick to do, what the heck..:biggrin:

Any help with on changing the float setting would be great. That is all it good be, tried everything else.
