Hi Troops,
My BR600 was loosing power and stalling. Replaced the loose fuel hose from the primer to the carb. This cured the stalling but not the performance. Finally went to the dealer and bought the thickness gauge and a gasket. Did the valve adjustment per the manual and it is back to full power and performance, valves were way out of adjustment. Readjusted the throttle cable in the trigger. Unit was purchased new in fall of 2009. Probably need to the valves in my KM90 trimmer!!

Yes, all Stihl 4-mix machines suffer from this issue eventually.
A valve adjustment interval is outlined in the Stihl owner's manual.

My landscaper buddies who run Stihl 4 stroke blowers pay close attention to the plastic timing gear while they're adjusting the valves and replace it if there is any sign of wear/age potentially causing it to fail. They have a habit of getting brittle and failing.
