engine turns over...but will not start

I have a John Deere zero turn z-435. Was mowing and just died. turns over very strong, but will not start

You need fuel ,spark ( at the correct time ) compression to run.

Squirt either gas, or parts/carb cleaner down the Carburetor throat behind the air filter, if it starts then dies most likely a fuel issue. If it doesn't fire, either no spark, or valves are not working.
Then take out the spark plug and squirt some down the plug hole. If it Fires, you have either a valve or valve timing issue, if it doesn't fire, most likely no spark.
If you get no fire, take off The blower housing to get to the ignition coil, and unplug the black kill wire. Then try to start it. If it doesn't start, your coil is bad.

A squirt of most anything may be way too much for a 14 / 1 air fuel ratio. I recommend 1/10 of a squirt.:laughing:

WRONG.
1/10 can damage the engine. I always either do a full squirt, or 3/4 of 1/10 of a squirt..:confused2::laughing:
