hi everyone I just got a vintage john deere 140-H3 with a 14 Hp k321 engine that I have to spray with starter fluid in order to get it to start and once she warms up it starts easy until it cools I installed a new spark plug air & gas filter and I'm waiting for the points and condenser to arrive.. would the points and condenser remedy my starting problem..????

I’m will to bet you need to clean and rebuild the carb, from the description you told us. I doubt the changing the points and condenser are going to solve your problem. Here’s a service manual which may be of some help.

^ what rivets said. points+ condenser is not causing your problem.

just notice choke isn't closing all the way but gonna wait till tomorrow to tackle it,,,hopefully it will take care of the problem..will let you know tomorrow thanks johnny
