Valves are not moving, engine turns over just fine, not making any strange noises. suspect the cam gear but not sure. any help before I tear into it would be appreciated.

I assume you took the cover off to see rockers. Do push rods move at all? Is piston moving?

Assuming the push rods are actually in their cam follower sockets, unlikely both would come out at same time but check, you have a tear down job at hand. Sounds like cam shaft broke, or more likely, cam shaft gear.

PS: I can send you a PDF of Service Manual IF you like, address below, put in proper format and remind me engine model number and what you want.
