I have a Colman Powermate generator that is 30 years old and up to six weeks ago was running great. We used it for 2 days during a power outage. I have kept it clean and start it every few months and let it run for 15 minutes to freshen the gas..
Today due to another storm coming into Florida I started it this morning it started on the second pull like it always has but it ran for about three minutes and quit. It's got good fire. I took the carb off and took it apart and blew out all the holes and everything looked good. I put it back on the Tecumseh 10hp HM100 engine but now it leaks fuel out the air cleaner. I took it apart again and checked it out and reinstall it again and it still leaks out the air cleaner. I did not install a carb kit since I rebuilt the carb three years ago to get a new rubber seal ring for the bowl under.
No leaks from any where else just the air cleaner.
The needle valve was clean and sharp and the float floated fine.
I looking to just replace the carb now. What do you all think about fuel leaking out the air filter?
Thanks
