Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me, I have a Honda HRG536 VK Smart Control Lawnmower self-propelled, approx. 5 months old,

The performance / speed of my mower had reduced dramatically, I am basically doing a light jog to keep up with it when the mower is at full speed, never seen a mower so quick,

under investigation I found out that the drive belt is very loose after removing the undercover / Shroud, I also shortened slightly, the very lower governor spring next to the fuel tap just to keep my revs up, I done that a couple of weeks ago now due to a drop in the speed of the mower, revs are slightly high, but the mower blitzes through long wet grass in theory but I need to have my mower back to running like new / original set up

I am trying to find the correct part number as part suppliers keep sending me the wrong ones even though they have the engine details etc. (GCV160H - MY2 - 280)

if anyone knows the correct part number for my spring it would be appreciated, as between myself / my supplier who has been speaking to Honda, I have basically went around in circles and have another 4 springs which I purchased this week and was advised they are the correct ones (Honda 16561 - Z0L - 900) but visibly look wrong

The above part number looks like it is the correct length around 70mm - 74mm, but the coiled up bit on the spring is half of the length / size near enough as the original one on the mower, so I presume this would have an impact on the running of the mower,

How do you adjust / tighten the drive belt, as I can see absolutely no where like an adjustment screw / lever etc. to tighten the belt up, If I move the transmission axle by hand it tightens up but that doesn’t stay in place, hence it basically springs back loose, I can find no info really on the web relating to it, it has me stumped,

I do recall seeing in a customer’s garden like a small L shaped bracket which looked pretty new, I did think at the time has it came off my mower, I had a quick look under my mower and all seemed fine / working fine the rest of the day etc., I chucked the little bit of metal away as I find all sorts of rubbish in customers gardens, there was no obvious signs under the mower that something has come apart / seemed to be running ok,

I carried on with my job, the following day, that was it, No drive, mower was kaput / I need to tighten the belt up,

I have uploaded a few photos too hopefully help

Any help gratefully received,

Kind Regards
