I need to get to the voltage regulator and have the steering wheel off, the bolts out. Now i need to disconnect the throttle and the parking brake.
How do I get those disconnected.
Thanks,
Chas

Remove the battery then you will see the parking brake rod & cruise control where fitted is held in by a split pin at the bottom

The actual dash column is held down by 8 bolts. but you should not need to remove the dash completely to get to the voltage regulator.
Go to the JD web page and pull down the parts diagrams for you mower.
You can print out each page, one at a time but not the entire book.
Although as you own the mower it would be handy to have at least on you your computer.
I can not stress strongly enough obtaining the JD technical manual it is worth a lot more than the price they charge for it and $25 is a steal.

Once the battery & hood are replaced you should get clearish access to the regulator.
You might need a 1/4" drive socket set to get to some of the bolts and remember that most of them will be metric.
