I use a Husqvarna 36” walk behind for my business. I got it free many years ago with a blown motor which was a 16hp Briggs with a pull start. I put a 15.5hp Briggs on it with a battery starting setup. I would like to go to a pull start on this motor and get rid of the battery. I have the starter recoil figured out but have a question with the electric solenoid for the carb. I know I can eliminate it but this motor will backfire too much and would like to keep it. Can I use the stator to power it somehow?

A 12v battery and toggle switch will keep it working.
They draw about .25A so will run a long time on a small battery.
or

Put a tap in the fuel line and when you have finished mowing turn the tap off & starve the engine off.

Thanks Bert. Thing I’ll go with a fuel shutoff valve...I want to keep this as light as possible.
