Hello,

That's a nice one. I have the electric start version 10547 in about as nice a shape.

Be ready to run to keep up with it in 3rd gear.

Regards

Small world. I got one this weekend. Mine there was a clog in the fuel tank- no fuel flowing(is there a filter in there?). Mine is steel deck though.. Was this an "option" of did toro already ditch the magnesium deck for this?

Amazing how much stuff people toss that only need a simple fix.

Hello,

There isn't a fuel filter in the gas tank on that model, there is a screen that covers the fuel pickup tube inside the carb.

You have a 10323 or 10324 there.

I see you're missing the primer bulb, you can fit a primer bulb off a small Tecumseh 2 stroke snowblower on your mower. It's made from rubber as opposed to the flimsy plastic Lawn-Boy used.

Magnesium decked Lawn-Boys were used on the earlier models, later ones used steel and aluminum.

I blew out the tank with an air compressor and water to flush anything out. Nothing solid came out but dirt. Gas flowed fine then.
Just choking the throttle is enough to start it in 1 pull so I might just leave it without a primer.
When i sent my dad a pic(being he had a LB in the 70's) he had a flashback. I wonder what was wrong that he tossed it back then. I know i used the right gas - mixed...

Jeff, do u by chance have the tecumseh part number?? From experience there are several types of primers that i have come across. If you dont i'll have to resort to the digging.

I ask because i found another one :))

I only made it to step 3 in my new find procedure - 1- check and clean the air filter, Don't need step 2 which is check there is oil, 3- add little gas and 1 squirt of starter fluid and BINGO!!!

This one the throttle does not have a choke so i will need to prime this one to start it and you are right- i primed it to get it to start 2 times, then the primer started breaking and falling apart.

Hello,

Found this on parts tree.com. Part number 570629a. Looks like the new ones are red, the old one I used was black.

I think any small engine repair shop could get you one without a part number though.

Regards

Jeff

Two things;

1.) That F sounds like it's running a little fast in that vid.

2.) IDK for sure what model F you have there, but I'd guess something like a 10515 if 4.5hp or 10518 if 5.0hp. Either way it doesn't matter, they share the same primer bulb, which carries over to the Durforce as well. So do yourself a favor and order up 3-4 new bulbs, they're cheap and only last so long, may as well have a spare or 2 handy. I myself did just that like a year ago since the collection keeps growing. The PN for those primers is 667460. The ones I ordered last year were black, and I don't see anything about them being red when looking them up just now..though I suppose that's the Tecumseh primers.

Happy mowing!
