I have a JD Z910A zero turn mower, I pulled out to mow and it died. was picked up and serviced, but engine will surge up and down and then die. picked up by dealer again, says mows fine, brought back, same thing, revs up and down and dies. waiting on a call back from dealer. I have used fresh 100% gas.I talked to an older Kubota mechanic, he said sometimes there is a valve that can get clogged between the gas tank and carb. anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

p.s. great forum

Take the tank cap off.
Blow some compressed air backwards through the fuel line.
If it gets better then he is right, you have a plug formed in the fuel system.

No
You disconnect the fuel line from the input side of the fuel pump.
Most pumps have a one way valve fitted somewhere.
