cub cadet rzt 50 Kawasaki 24 hp. rectifier has 2 white wires coming out of the connector with rising ac current on meter with engine revving the red wire is not connected to anything but the rectifier. where does it go? On the hot wire to the battery? to ground? it broke off and I don't know where to put it.

White wires are coming from the stator providing AC voltage to the voltage regulator/rectifier. The regulator converts AC voltage to DC voltage. The red wire carries the DC voltage to charge the battery. On most engines this wire is connected to the large red wire on the solenoid, which is connected to the positive battery terminal.
