I swapped the handrails from another mower, cleaned the carb and the only issue is it won't shut off. If I push the assembly to make contact with the switch it shuts off but there is some resistance keeping the cable from pushing it off.

Ideas??

Sprayed everything down with WD-40 and viola, it works!

Re adjust the cable. Is it auto or manual choke? If it is manual choke make sure it fully chokes ok? Maybe you need to check the stop switch.
