MTD made dozens of different brands, and the only difference between models would be the hoods and paint, so any store chain had their own line of mowers. MTD also bought out and absorbed most of the different brands out there, and put their logos on MTD tractors. So the actual name on the tractot has little meaning.

you are right, Fish, the name has little meaning ... but look at it the other way round: each additional name I got is another name I can search for to find old tractors to get parts from ...
and it's nice to know a little bit of history.
Until today I thought this design was for the topline because of the name Gutbrod and the "big" engine on ours, now I learned that the design was there before with smaller engines and smaller names.

Thanks for the logo - so Westinghouse made those bulbs as well.

Greets,
Franz
