Ok, so my old mower (Snapper SR1028 series) stopped working last Sunday (I think the motor locked up). This past Tuesday I bought another snapper, this ones has a 33” cutting blade and my questions are #1. What goes in the chain drive next to the right rear wheel as far as lubricant. #2. I was cutting the lawn earlier and the mower just refused to go into gear. I think this is my fault because I was trying to go in reverse and forgot this mower is not a shift on the go model like my old one was so I kind of jammed it into gear. Now the mower will not go in any gear. I replaced the drive disk and this did not resolve the issue. The reason I thought this was the issue is because when I would put it in gear I could still spin the drive disk fairly freely while it was in gear, so I figured it was worn to the point where it wouldn’t make contact anymore. What else could cause this? The reason I took the side cover off near the right rear wheel is because I thought maybe the chain broke, but the chain is intact and looks fine.
