My la 135 tractor starts great. problem is when mower is engaged, tractor dies. replaced seat switch. still have the problem but noticed when tractor is moving forward in gear, it does not die when mower is engaged. Seems to be a switch problem of sorts. Don't know? appreciate any ideas or suggestions. thanks.

have you checked by hand wire harness connection at PTO clutch?

I found that when that occurs, it’s usually a bad battery.

Your mower should have a reverse safety switch, usually on the tranny behind the right side wheel

part number GY20157
shown as 9 in this diagram https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/66299/referrer/navigation/pgId/204101436.
If you follow the seat switch wire down you should come across it.
When it is working properly it shuts the mower down if the deck is engaged & you put the mower into reverse.
I do not have the service manual for the LA series but I think from memory the reverse switch works through the relay shown as part 22 in the same diagram.

If the link above does not work go to
https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/search
And type "LA135" in the search box then navigate to the electrical system.
