I have a couple of old 2 stroke mowers whose motors are shot. Both are self-propelled with the staggered wheel design (22261 and 10635(I think)). I’d like to equip them with new 4 strokes, but the only vertical shaft motors I can find have shafts that are too short.

Any suggestions from those who have done this? Thanks in advance!

You may also find that the mounting hole and bolt hole pattern won't match up either.

If Milwaukee ever comes out with an M18 mower, I would probably convert mine instantly. Even if it meant making a new shaft, or a short extension. I've got an old 2 stroke lawn boy whose motor has been finicky as all get out lately. But I flatly refuse to buy a mower that doesn't have a staggered deck. I got spoiled with the lawn boys from an early age(like 10 or so) and love their handling.
