DOM : 6/2007

I was mowing the lawn yesterday, disengaged PTO Blades when going on dirt driveway

when I got back onto lawn and went to engage blades again nothing.

I noticed when I attempt to engage blades, the pulleys to tighten.

Going back out in a few to look at it again.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Steve

PTO Switch ?

According to those numbers you have a 42" manual PTO deck.
If that is the case, pull it out and check that the tensioning pulley is free to travel it's full distance and is disengaging the brake fully.
Check the belt for a worn or burned thin section
Check that the blades can in fact spin one the brakes comes off.

The Deck belt is new from last year.
When you say make sure the brake is disengaged, the mower still drives fine, just doesn't engage the blades.

I checked the cable and it seems fine, blades aren't hung up on anything.
I have a new PTO switch on order, should be here tomorrow, also replacing the drive belts while I'm at it, one of which is missing a chunk and fraying. Other drive belt is quite cracked as well.

Thank you,

Steve
