Hi guys, new member here and glad I found this place! I know very little about mowers and their intricacies, so be easy on me.

I've got a Cub Cadet LTX 1040 and have had it for a few years. I was moving in to clean out the air filter when I noticed a line connecting from the top of the gas tank was broken off. In the pictures below, the line connected to the black circular ring on top of the gas tank and runs into behind the air filter. I haven't tried to start the mower after seeing this in fear it might mess something up.

Does anyone know what that line is for, where I could find it to order one, and how to change it?

I appreciate the help!

That is just a vent line, you can use the mower with no problem. See if you have enough extra to cut it off square and push it back on. If that does work you’ve solved your problem. If not take a piece of it to your auto parts store or small engine shop and get a new piece of tubing. Probably will have to remove the air cleaner to see where it attaches to the air cleaner housing. Not a hard job, just go slow and take pictures of any parts you might take off.
