Hi All,
I have an older craftsman riding mower, 42 inch cut. I have replaced the blades with mulching blades and installed a cover over the chute. The manual states that the plastic chute should never be removed. Is there a reason for this? I have a smaller yard and it just gets in the way.

If there's a cover over deck opening the chute serves no purpose and can be removed.
