Mufflers, Tecumseh and Briggs

Hi,

I have a snowking snow blower with a Tecumseh 8hp engine. I'm not the original owner. Muffler was removed, and bolts sheared off (bolt on muffler). I happen to have a wood chipper with a Briggs 8hp engine, with a screw on muffler. I took the muffler off the Briggs and screwed it into the threaded exhaust pipe on the snow blower. Is this ok to do? any conflict? I assume mufflers are generic in nature and not specific to their machine. If the muffler fits, use it??

Agreed, might be some noisier, make more power if so?
