I have a 123 that was my Dad's and I use it to mow some areas (not my only mower). The problem is the hydrostat, it does not hold it's ground speed. Set the speed with the lever and any change in ground level it changes speed. Go slightly uphill and it slows way down, go down and it speeds way up. It has done this for a long time I think.
It is not my only mower, but it is my only garden tractor. Don't know if it is worth looking into the hydrostat. I would do the work myself, but then the parts????? It is very frustrating to use it, especially with fertilizer spreader, constantly adjusting ground speed.
