Bought Murray used, the under seat decal is worn, no numbers visible.

B&S Diamond I/C 20 HP. 46" deck w/ 3 blades. Automatic trans. Decals say "Murray Ultra Widebody".

Asking help identifying so I can learn if deck engagement is stock parts (pedal-spring only, NO linkage rods). Idler pulley brake, (see deck pic with red arrow) is shot, metal to metal. I see no adjustments for deck belt tension, and deck won't disengagement.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Try this model number 46430X8A. Most of the older Murray deck were the same.

Thanks Rivets.

Never woulda' thunk when I found LawnWorld and this Murray forum that faded out model info stickers created so many questions.

That said, I've determined my Murray is a 1998 and the idler brake that went metal-to-metal ain't available, so I'll set about eliminatin' or fabricating.

If anyone has worked on a Murray where the blade engagement lever is connected by just a spring to the idler tensioner system (and NO adjustment features exist) then I'd like to pick your brain about navigating this set up.
