An Issue this Spring

I have a Craftsman rider, model 917.203901. Got it out for the maiden voyage this spring, and it having problems going up inclines. I'm not a small guy, but not any large than I was last year. Any idea what I should check out, or look at as a cause?

Loose/worn belt...

Try going up the same incline backwards.
