Hello everyone, just joined. I am looking for a brake disc Part# 532142509, for a Sears Craftsman tractor Model# 917.275013. I have checked about a dozen places and everyone say no longer available. I found out it was discontinued in 08/16. Husqvarna uses the same part#. If anyone knows where to get one or have a used one please let me know. Thanks, Tim

The brake is part of the transmission not the mower so look to the tranny maker for a replacement.

If you can not find one, try a mower breaker or a small repair only workshop.
Most of the latter keep old dead trans for parts.

Thanks Bert, I believe it's a Peerless transaxle and couldn't find it that way either so I've been trying the small shops and tractor graveyards with no luck. Thanks again, I'll keep looking.

IF worst comes to worst, it is on a mower, not a Nascar racer.
If you still have the old one just weld a new disc to the old splined boss.
AFAIK the layshaft that the brake runs on never changed either it's diameter or splining.
The image that comes up looks like a much bigger disc so it should not be difficult to fabricate a new disc if you have the splined boss, or a boss that fits on the shaft.
Plain mild steel will be fine It does not spin fast and the clamping forces are not great.
Check the specialist mower racer & go cart shops.
Fairly sure I have seen a brake upgrade kit so that might get you outt of trouble but you will probably have to paint some GT stripes across the hood to make them work properly

Thanks for the reply. The spline teeth is what is worn out. The disc just turns on the shaft. The spline on the shaft are fine. I'll check the cart shops and the brake upgrade. Thanks
